Citizens Insurance: ‘We Don’t Need No Stinking Integrity!’

Waste, Fraud, and Abuse:  The holy trinity of cost savings.  It’s always the thing politicians point to when they talk about massive budgetary savings.  Combine that with the fact that South Florida is the fraud capital of the United States, you’d think that companies would want to remain extra vigilant against the holy trinity.  Not so in the case of Citizens Property Insurance Corp.  Citizens has dismantled its corporate integrity unit, even as its workload was increasing amid rising allegations of waste, fraud and abuse at the state-run insurer.  Corporate Integrity?  What’s that?  ‘We don’t need no stinking integrity’, might be the mantra of the Citizens corporate leadership.
